McTaggart is best known as the drummer for the creative and experimental rock band Daniel Amos, since he joined the band in 1976 shortly after the release of their first album. McTaggart has been heavily involved in designing album artwork for that band, as well as countless other artists including LSU, Jon Gibson, The Ragamuffin Band's Rick Elias, Grand Funk Railroad's Mark Farner and others. McTaggart currently lives in California (USA), with his wife Kristy and their children, where he runs his own graphic design business.
