Called "the Woodies" as created by resident director Jon Berry, votes were by paying members of the theatre. This win was for a comedic role - Elaine's portrayal of "Daria" in Ken Ludwig's "The Games Afoot: Holmes for the Holidays" (pix here on IMDb). In shorts she has been a reporter, an abused woman, a bipolar drug addict ("Chronicles of a Love Unfound"), an innocent girl in "The Watchmaker", on to the hottie two-timing comedic lead in the quickly paced "Notting Hill".. Capogeannis is usually cast as sexy, and intelligent - or their exact opposite. THE LAST TYCOON: SEASON ONE (2017) had her in a featured background role as Jennifer Beals' dowdy seamstress. "LIAR LIAR" creator and co-writer Paul Guay cast Elaine for his directing debut of "Play It Again, Sam" (by Woody Allen) at the Santa Monica Morgan-Wixson in 2012. One afternoon, one of the excellent actresses had to be taken to the hospital. Paul asked Elaine to memorized that part as well for that night's show. She noted it felt amazing, years of work paying off. "Lainey", as known by her dearest, continually hones her craft through stage the way Marlon Brando did "Streetcar Named Desire" for 2 years in theater before he was chosen for the film version. Her plays have good range, from situational comedy (KJAZZ Helen Borgers' chosen court jester THE FOOL in "King Lear" while dual role playing Cordelia every night for Borgers' own Shakespeare troupe, to the doe-eyed bubble-head innocent Meg in Ken Salzman's "Leading Ladies") on over to heavy dramatic roles (the mentally broken Bella in Salzman's "Gaslight", the fiery ingenue Terry Randall in "Stage Door" at the Long Beach Playhouse, and the pure, stronghearted Lady Macduff, a boy, and a witch in "Macbeth" played evenings in a beautiful, historical bookstore's courtyard in Brentwood). These worked the emotional craft.. and received some great support in lovely reviews noted here under IMDb's "awards". A UCLA grad, Elaine interned for : NBC CH.4 NEWS Dr Bruce Hensel, CBS PUBLICITY, SAA (Special Artists Agency), UNIVERSAL STUDIOS (w/Lynn Arost in Bryan Levant's bungalow), MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM & two VETERINARIANS .. while studying through independents to act - Stanislavski and method, film and commercial, stage, and voice over work. Vocally Elaine's range is - D3 to A5. Playing opposite roles in one sitting, able to make animal sounds and sing - have lent to some interesting characters..
