Brad Kimmel is an experienced and successful television producer & executive, with 27 years experience in both public and commercial television. Brad was born in Royal Oak, Michigan but spent most of his childhood living in suburban Chicago. He enjoyed playing sports and, thanks to his grandfather who worked for Ford Motor Company, he developed a strong passion for cars. When he was age 15, the family moved to Princeton, Kentucky, and Brad graduated from Caldwell County High School in 1979. He received his Bachelors degree in 1983 from Murray State University in the field of radio and television arts. After graduation, Brad was hired as a director by a small television station in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. During the next ten years he worked at a series of television stations and video production companies in Michigan and Indiana. In 1994, he founded Bradley David Productions and began producing innovative programming for national cable networks like TNN, Spike, and Speed Channel. Kimmel created the popular My Classic Car as well as many other successful automotive programs. My Classic Car is now entering its 15th season on the air and is the most consistently profitable automotive lifestyle program on cable television. In 2005, he created the ground-breaking comedy Texas Hardtails for SPEED Channel. The series was the first American television series to combine a real-life business, Strokers Dallas, along with the actual employees, into a scripted comedy. One of the keys to the series was Kimmel's ability to produce a quality comedy with a very modest budget. Kimmel also wrote, produced, and directed the independent film NOVEM. The film won numerous awards on the film festival circuit and was released theatrically in the U.S. and Japan. It continues to be a favorite on national cable in Canada. His list of credits also includes two documentaries produced for public television: On Bended Knees (the story of the Night Riders) and Crazy Nate and his Wireless Telephone (the story of Nathan B. Stubblefield). In 2010, Kimmel sold Bradley David Productions to his business partner and formed Brad Kimmel Media to produce quality entertainment programming for cable networks and to produce a series of film projects. Kimmel lives in Evansville, Indiana with his wife Mary. They have five children and six grandchildren.
