Tim Devine has worked directly with some of the biggest names in music: U2, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Prince, Beastie Boys and is responsible for over $2Bn in global music sales. Devine is a multi-faceted executive with experience in talent acquisition and development, marketing, new media, web video, technology, publishing and intellectual property (as well as data and financial management, investment banking, venture capital and real estate.) His experience includes, negotiation, procurement, development, national branding, personnel management, legal and administration of annual budgets in excess of 100 million dollars. Devine oversaw the West Coast headquarters for #1 music label of Sony/BMG Music Entertainment. He signed and developed numerous multi-platinum and other artists for the label throughout 10 year career, including Train, Katy Perry, Switchfoot, Aware Records (John Mayer, Five for Fighting), American Recordings (System of a Down, Johnny Cash), Brandi Carlile, Cake, Crazytown, the Ataris, Sinead O'Connor, Tal Bachman, the Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers and many others. He also supervised recordings for Pete Yorn, the Offspring, Soul Asylum, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Sophie B. Hawkins, etc. and co-produced soundtracks for the movies 'Orange County' (Jack Black) and 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' as well as the PBS series 'Sessions at West 57th Street, featuring Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, Lou Reed, David Byrne, John Hiatt, Ben Folds Five, Sinead O'Connor, Natalie Merchant and others. As a senior talent executive at Capitol Records, Devine was responsible for signing and developing numerous platinum selling, Grammy award winning, artists including Bonnie Raitt, Blind Melon, Mazzy Star, Concrete Blonde, John Hiatt, Lloyd Cole and many others. He A&R'ed multiple gold and platinum recordings for the Beastie Boys, Paul McCartney, the Butthole Surfers, Heart, the Beach Boys, Cocteau Twins, Eric Johnson and others. While at Capitol, Devine also produced numerous film and television soundtrack recordings including for such award-winning films as Rainman, Clueless, Bull Durham, Moonstruck, the Addams Family, Tequila Sunrise, John Lennon: Imagine, the Indian Runner and many more. Devine began his music business career at Warner Bros. Records in Burbank, CA where he oversaw all aspects of marketing, advertising, promotion and publicity for large segment of label's artist roster. He created numerous first time Gold and Platinum successes (*) with a client roster that included: U2*, Prince*, Devo*, Bob Marley, Public Image, Ltd., Gang of Four, Van Morrison, Steve Winwood*, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Tom Verlaine, Robert Palmer, Grace Jones, Pat Metheny, Keith Jarrett, Jaco Pastorius, Little Feat and many others. Tim Devine had early jobs as a college rep at A&M Records, a freelance music journalist (Rolling Stone, LA Free Press, Phonograph Record Magazine, etc.) as well as working in college radio at UC Berkeley (KALX) and CSUN (KCSN) and music retail at the Licorice Pizza record chain. Devine graduated from UC Berkeley and lives with his wife Lynn in the Los Angeles area.
