Cara Santana was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. After developing a love for the creative arts and theater, she left Texas at 15 to pursue a career as an actress. She enrolled at the prestigious Idyllwild Arts Academy, where she trained and studied the Meisner method, Stanislavsky and Uta Hagen techniques for 4 years before moving to Los Angeles. After graduating from the academy she started working in guest starring roles throughout network television. With a diverse and ambiguous look Cara has been able to morph into a variety of different characters showcasing both her comedic ability and dramatic talent. A chameleon to some degree, she has a strong resume of interesting and versatile roles showing her love for characters. With the rise of social media, she quickly gained a following and has created a secondary career in brand endorsements and a voice in activism. With an outspoken opinion on immigration reform, gun control and human rights issues; Cara has also contributed as a writer to Harper's Bazaar and The Huffington Post. Often partnering with brands that mimic her same sensitivity to social impact, her strongly engaged social media followers allow her to successfully shed light on brands and causes that are deeply rooted in her passions. With interests in writing and production, Cara is also focusing on producing and bringing her own material to life, including the feature film, Steps, about addiction which she is looking to be her directorial debut. Cara lives in Los Angeles.
