Lisa Ruud was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. Growing up, she liked spelling bees and reading and she's not afraid to admit it. Lisa could swim before she could walk. Her last name is Norwegian and it's pronounced 'rude'. Lisa's first performance involved tap shoes and a red, white, and blue tutu (with sequins). She's left-handed. She had blue hair in high school and a wicked love of the absurd. She has been skydiving (once). Her favorite word is 'persnickety'. Lisa received a BFA with Honors in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. In association with NYU, she performed and studied with the Off-Broadway Atlantic Theatre Company. While there, she received instruction from such distinguished actors as William H. Macy, F. Murray Abraham, and Frances McDormand. Her films Hollow and Post-Mortem have won numerous festival awards.
