Adam Stephenson started his career at a young age shooting silly spin-offs of television shows and movies such as Spider-Man, Edgar Warshog and Cold Blood. These were the days of Basement Broadcasting. During high school, he merged with other film fanatics and with the combined efforts and passions formed: Ghostwriter Productions. They made films, usually in the vein of Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorcese. Stories revolving around crime, gangsters and drugs deals gone awry. Films produced included: The Hitman, Fiasco and an English IRP remake of A Clockwork Orange. After graduation, Adam, with Derek Burnett filmed their first feature: Victims of Consequence. It displayed the aftermath of an assassination and the search for the killer's identity. Directly after the small family/friends premiere followed the next feature, Yesterday's Destiny. It is a time travel story about a man, released from prison who ventures back in time and attempts to prevent his prosecution. Prior to Christmas of 2004, Adam decided that he would re-master all of the early work, finalize any current work and prepare for the future. He developed and authored a Six-Disc DVD Anthology containing everything from 1998-2004. After Christmas, a web page was designed in order to serve as a grounding location for the films he and his team were making. The site is still active and can be found here: Ghostwriter Productions During the New Year, the team grew and incorporated other film enthusiasts. During the Valentines Day weekend, the Panasonic DVX 100AP was rented from Toronto. This was a critical step for the aspiring team, because it was the first professional camera they had ever used to produce a film with. In four days, they shot four shorts and one trailer. The films were: Through the Footsteps of a Madman (Trailer), Hounds, Restless Soul, The Dealer and Raiders with Reason. In the summer of 2005, the team shot their third and largest (scale of locations, actors and props) feature length film titled: Through the Footsteps of a Madman. Co-written by Nathan Thomas, who also starred in the film, the story details an aging assassin who recalls his past in attempts to forget his mistakes. Set post-World War III within the apocalyptic lands known as the Forgotten Regions, they took advantages of dilapidated factories, abandoned tunnels and swampy forests. It premiered on Sunday August 21st, at Fairview Cinema's in St. Catherine's. A theater was rented out and nearly four hundred guests were in attendance. The film was later selected and presented at the 2005 Young Cuts Film Festival. Adam Stephenson is currently attending Confederation College for Film Production in Thunder Bay. Having completed his first year, two silent films were shot, as well as a third thesis sound film titled: Dax Dalton. Totaling five minutes, the story follows a rock star and his girlfriend on New Years Eve while his greedy manager hunts them down. Along with his classmates, he filled various roles on other productions such as camera operator & assistant, director of photography, and assistant director. All of which were shot on 16 MM film stock using Bolex and Arriflex cameras. Over the summer of 2006, Adam teamed up with Jason Lupish and John Petrella of Open Concept Films and wrote a feature length screenplay entitled: A Life Less Gone. Based on a short story by Lupish, It is a tragic true story of a young girl who battles and addiction to Heroin. The film will be in production during Winter 2006 and will be shot in and around Niagara Falls. For the final year at Confederation College, Adam's thesis film: Cyberpunks, will chronicle the lives of several cyberpunks in a futuristic look at a technology based society. The film will be premiered in Thunder Bay at Confederation's Film Night, in May of 2007.
