Whitney White was born in Chicago, Illinois. She is an actress and has appeared on Louie (2012), The Playboy Club (2009), and the upcoming film Ocean's 8 directed by Gary Ross (2017). Her mother Janice is a travel agent and her father Marcus "Yabba" Griffiths is a Jamaican Reggae singer. She began singing at the age of six at Mt. Carmel Academy and continued studying music, theatre, and Political Science at Northwestern University. Her first professional play was Caroline or Change at the Court Theatre in Chicago directed by Charlie Newell. In 2015 she received her MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep, and she received her BA from Northwestern.
