Born and raised in Salem, Oregon, his father served as mayor of the capitol city and his mother was an art instructor. Tom is one of seven siblings. At age 4, Tom declared to his parents that he would be moving to Los Angeles or New York because he knew that's where television and film were made. Although it took a few decades before he made L.A. his home, his acting career was taking shape long before that as he began studying acting and performing in regional theatre in Oregon. Upon his prophetic arrival to Los Angeles, he immediately found work in Hollywood, although not in the acting career he had dreamed of. Following in the early footsteps of Harrison Ford, he began working as a construction manager on the Hollywood and Vine Subway station. Of course, he didn't mind, since it was for him another opportunity to build and create something from nothing. From that point on, he began taking professional acting classes around L.A. as well as pursuing his professional acting jobs. He became a member of SAG after doing his first commercial for IHOP. Tom has an extensive background in Improv and Sketch Comedy experience. He successfully performed and wrote sketch comedy for three years at the well-respected venues for Upright Citizens Brigade and ACME Comedy. He also had a very popular stand-up act that he performed regularly at the Comedy Store. This comedic and improv ability has also served him well for commercials over the years. He played principal roles in several National Commercials, including one for Honda that continues to yield residuals for him after many, many years. Tom's other passions include restoring Vintage Muscle Cars. He is also an admitted Home Depot addict and loves being a home improvement guy. He acknowledges his art teacher mother as being a huge inspiration in the arena of his love of the creative arts. Tom lives in L.A.
