Martti currently lives in Los Angeles, California, where she sticks out like a sore thumb among all the tall, tan starlets. She recently co-created, co-produced and co-wrote a pilot, "Martti and Kim's Story of... [Abridged]", which was an official selection of the New York Television Festival 2006 and went on to win the Best Educational Pilot award at the festival. Naturally, she stars in the pilot as well (she's no dummy, no sirree!) Martti was born in a small town in Florida and spent her youth terrorizing the Ocala Civic Theatre whilst appearing in many, many plays there. People in Ocala still talk about her riveting performance as a dancing ear of corn. (OK - "people" means "her mom".) She grew up... well... grew older (she stopped the upward momentum at 5' 1") and attended Catawba College, majoring in Musical Theatre - Summa Cum Laude. After that, Martti moved to Chicago with her husband Marc (see Marc Collins (IV)). Her Chicago and Regional theatre credits include Jessica in "The Merchant of Venice", Lainie in "Two Rooms", Jean McLaren in "Brigadoon" and Lea in "My Sister in This House". Marc and Martti happily acted in independent films and plays in Chi-Town until they tired of nice people and snow and decided to relocate to Los Angeles. Just kidding - there are lots of nice people in L.A. But, happily, not lots of snow. Since arriving in LA, Martti has starred in numerous plays and films and continues to write and create her own. See, she even wrote this biography. Hmmm... she should have made herself taller.
