Joe Stipek was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. He moved to New York City in order to study at the Atlantic Theater Company and New York University. Joe made his off-Broadway debut at The Atlantic Theater Company in the American premiere of Jez Butterworth's The Night Heron, directed by Neil Pepe. He has been directed by Darren Aronofsky in the PSA titled Mother for the Montana Meth Project: montanameth.org. He has also collaborated on projects with playwright Christopher Shinn and filmmaker Hal Hartley.
