Brigitte was born in Hammond, Indiana. She is the youngest of seven children of Rita, a first generation Italian American and Walter, a professional football player and high school Athletic Director. She graduated from Munster High School, has a B.A. from Purdue University and an M.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon, where she spent a semester studying at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia. Brigitte lives in Puerto Rico with her husband Doug, and is the author of a number of plays.
