Bec Peniston-Bird is an Australian writer/director working across commercials, documentary and narrative. Her work has screened at some of the world's most prestigious film festivals, including Berlin, Palm Springs and Series Mania, as well as on ABC Television, MTV Australia, Foxtel and Lonely Planet TV. Bec won the Australian Writers Guild's Insite Award for her feature screenplay, Petrova. A TV adaptation is in development. With a background in art and music, Bec has made documentaries exploring the creative process of artists such as Nick Cave, Barry Humphries and Keith Haring. She is a member of the Australian Writers Guild's Pathways Program, an alumni of the Berlinale's Talent Campus and she directs commercials through Melbourne's Truce Films.
