Los Angeles native, JoAnna Rhambo was born to her parents Ernest Rhambo (Vietnam Veteran) and Cynthia Rhambo (Secondary School Teacher). She began her acting career in the theatre as she felt it was the best bootcamp for actors. Ms. Rhambo was cast in several stage productions including 'The Colored Museum', 'Long Time Since Yesterday', DON B.WELCH's 'Fightclub' and 'Chicago Club Rumboogie' which went on to win several NAACP Theater Awards. She landed her first major on screen credit in 2007 on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' where she showcased her sketch comedy and improv skills. She has since booked several roles in both television and film, most notably 'Grey's Anatomy' (recurring), and playing opposite Jane Lynch in 'Angel from Hell'(CBS). A few of her film credits include 'Ride Along'(Universal Pictures), 'Takers' (Sony Screen Gems), 'THUMPER' (Parliament of Owls) and 'The Archer' (MarVista Entertainment). In 2011, she started her own production company, Hazel Honey Films. The inaugural film 'SOLSTICE' (which she wrote, produced and stars in) debuted at the 2013 Pan African Film Festival to a sold out audience where it was coined 'a powerful must see' film. Ms. Rhambo who is well versed in both dramatic and comedic acting continues to thrive in her career. Her motto is "Save Room for Surprises" and she continues to do just that!
