David Bishop is a character actor who is best known for his work in the Cape Cod cult classics: "Johnny in Monsterland", and "The Brides of Johnny in Monsterland". He also appears in the soon to be released productions "Gilpin" and "High Town",two motion picture productions that were also produced on Cape Cod. David Bishop appears in a supporting role in "The Left Side of My Brain", an independent production shot on location in Boston, Massachusetts, and New York City. David's world-traveled background often involves him in the creative realms of where he happens to be. Early on, growing up in Massachusetts, David was drawn into the world of stage and screen. At the tender age of 12, he began working at White City Amusement Park, operating various rides and attractions. This became the catalyst to a means of support, as David would work at fairs, carnivals, and circuses, throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle-East. For many consecutive years, David has spent the Summer season In Provincetown, volunteering at The Tennessee Williams Festival, The Provincetown International Film Festival, The Shakespeare Festival, and The Provincetown Theatre. David Bishop was the first recipient of the "Volunteer of the Year" award, bestowed to him by the Tennessee Williams Festival, in September 2019. Other awards include "Longest Volunteer", and "Miss Congeniality", both for his dedicated service to the festival. David is extremely knowledgeable of Provincetown's history. He is a patron of the arts, and has many colorful friends, and associates, that range the spectrum from Heaton Vorse, Mary Heaton Vorse, Robert Motherwell, Norman Maile, Beverly Bentley, Reggie Cabral, John Waters, Melanie Vesey, and Divine.
