Mar Yvette

TV host, lifestyle expert, entertainment reporter and segment producer Mar Yvette is best known for her fun, relatable personality and high energy segments on FOX 11's "Good Day LA" morning show. She is also a regular on E! News and has made numerous appearances on NBC, ABC, CBS, KTLA, Univision, The Ricki Lake Show and Style Network. Mar started out as a music writer in 2001, freelancing for magazines, eventually writing cover stories and interviewing rock stars including Gwen Stefani, The White Stripes, Eminem, Flaming Lips, Deftones, Johnny Marr, Incubus, KISS and many others. She then moved on to fashion and design as the associate editor of Clear Magazine, an international luxury publication. In 2004, Mar made her television debut as a fashion expert on Univision's nationally syndicated morning show, "Despierta America." Soon after, she became a featured fashion stylist on Style Network's "How Do I Look?" In 2007, Mar was hired as the senior editor of Citysearch, an online city guide with more than 10 million unique monthly visitors. She quickly became the go-to Los Angeles expert on dining, entertainment, retail, travel and cultural events. She began making more TV appearances on various networks including NBC, CBS, KTLA and ABC 7, where she co-hosted and produced the monthly "Top 7" segments. In 2009, Mar turned a one-time guest appearance on KTTV Fox 11's "Good Day LA" show into the "Marpop Weekend Roundup," a weekly segment she produces and hosts featuring celebrity interviews, live music performances, top restaurants and chefs, festivals, fashion shows, cultural events, plus beauty and fitness trends. In April 2012, Mar was hired as a lifestyle reporter for KTTV and began producing live field reports throughout Southern California, highlighting fun activities and the multicultural community. Simultaneously, she was a regular lifestyle expert on the Ricki Lake Show. In December 2013, Mar helped launch and began co-hosting the popular "Love It Buy It" segment on E! News with Giuliana Rancic. The on-air flash sale offers limited-time discounts on designer fashions, accessories, beauty products and gifts. As a Los Angeles native and third-generation Mexican American, Mar is an active voice of the growing bicultural Latino experience and celebrates the multicultural community through her professional and volunteer work.
