Named by Hispanic Magazine as one of the "25 Most Powerful and Influential Hispanics", Luis Balaguer has been working in the entertainment industry for 24 years. He is the CEO and founder of Latin World Entertainment (LWE), premier Hispanic talent management and entertainment-marketing firm in the United States. LWE started as a management agency for top Hispanic talent and today is a multi-service company offering a 360° approach that includes public relations, licensing, endorsements, promotions, brand integration, production and content development. Today, if you watch Hispanic television, you are most likely watching a LWE client. LWE represents the biggest stars, opinion makers and trend-setters in the Spanish-speaking entertainment world and leverages that star power to take brands into the burgeoning US Hispanic market. Recent LWE talent endorsements include national campaigns for Pepsi, Ford, AT&T, Comcast, COVERGIRL, Maybelline, Garnier, Suave, and Pampers. The LWE licensing division started in 2010 with the partnership of Li & Fung and Regatta USA to develop Sofia Vergara's line for Kmart. The line achieved unprecedented success, expanding from 1 to 6 categories in 3 months. LWE's production division has led to programming in VH1, TVE, Univision, Telemundo, ABC, and Youtube. Partners include Disney's Buenavista to adapt Golden Girls for Spain and Desperate Housewives for Latin America, and Electus for the Spanish-language channel NuevOn on YouTube. In addition, LWE has successfully marketed over 1,000 major Hollywood studio films to U.S. Hispanics and promoted top Spanish-language music tours for the largest live entertainment companies. Luis Balaguer comes from a colorful multi-cultural background. He spent his formative years between Havana, Moscow and Madrid, before settling in Miami where LWE was established. He is currently based in Beverly Hills, is married, and has three children.
