Born William George Bernico July 17, 1950 (exactly 51 years after James Cagney) Bill moved around quite often as a child. He finally settled back in his home town of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and started his first teen band at age 15. By the time he was 21, Bill caught the acting bug and moved to Hollywood, trying to break into movies. His only part was that of an extra in "Nightmare County" before returning to Wisconsin to resume his musical career. In between, Bill became an author of nine books, mostly short story compilations. His work is currently being offered in audio form. He was also a regular newspaper columnist for The Sheboygan Press for four years. Bill's computer advice columns appears in several trade magazines with worldwide circulation. Bill is also an avid songwriter, having taken second place in a national songwriting contest from among 45,000 entries. His winning entry was titled, "'Tween You And My Horse That's Two Nags In My Life." He has written more than 100 songs to date. Bill's various bands have appeared on several television shows from the 1960s through the 1990s. Bill says he's covered almost every media except an actual vinyl record, his one regret over a 40-year music career. Today, Bill continues to play live music in his spare time, having pared down from a band to a duo to a solo act. After spending 40 years as a working musician, Bill sees no end in the immediate future. Bill lives on the shores of Lake Michigan with his wife of more than 30 years, Kathie. He has one daughter, Wendy, from a previous marriage.
