Manuel Mesquita

Manuel Mesquita was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1977. He has a degree in Social Anthropology but has been working mainly in several cinema related activities since 2002. He composes music for films and plays minor roles: he is a regular cast member in films by João Nicolau who gave him his first lead role in "A Espada e a Rosa"(2009). Usual collaborator of the Portuguese production company O Som e a Fúria, he has appeared in movies by Miguel Gomes and Sandro Aguilar, among others. Being a multidisciplinary artist, he labored in production, editing (sound & video), voice narration for documentaries and has made both video and sound installations in the context of Art exhibitions.
