Jay Hopkins moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to pursue an acting career after being a successful model in New Orleans. Soon after moving to LA he landed an uncredited extra role in Independence Day. Jay continued to pursue acting with little success but found a career in publicity instead. In 1999 after leaving the prestigious public relations agency, Spelling Communications,he started the first of two very successful PR agencies, Hopkins & Perlstein Publicity. In 2001 he launched The PR Spin, Inc and in 2006 created a sister company Adventure Advertising. His first job as a producer was on the documentary A School of their Own with Debra Kaufman. The doc picked up a distribution deal at the 2005 Reel Women International Film Festival in Los Angeles. It was then that he decided to become a producer. Since 2005 he has been producing on many different levels from an uncredited associate producer (post production) on "High Hopes", to producer on the soon to be released Ron and Laura Take Back America. Currently he is developing a TV pilot.
