Raised in New Hampshire, but born in L.A., Matthew returned to the southland in 2003 to study filmmaking and graduated with a B.F.A. in film production at Chapman University. During college, he produced four short films including TriggerStreet Festival Finalist Confessions of a Peepshow Junkie and super 16mm film Beyond the Window which went on to be nominated for Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best undergraduate film by Chapman University. The film also screened at several festivals nationwide, picking up a Silver Medal for its score at the Park City Film Music Festival. Matthew took this momentum to Warner Bros. quickly after he graduated and signed on to write, direct, edit and produce a slew of web content for the studio. Most notably, he served as editor on the critically acclaimed Downer's Grove and in 2008 was sent around the country to five cities to produce 21 episodes of travel show called Daytripper. He also produced and co-directed a television pilot Bros with longtime friend and collaborator Sean Barney and directed the season finale of Ben and Burman, a web series in development as a television show with executive producer Gary Randall (Saving Grace). In 2009, Matthew took a job with commercial company Uber Content as their post production supervisor, working with some of the top commercial directors in the industry as well as on two feature documentaries, I Am Comic and Amazon Gold. It was at Uber Content that he began to discover the work of Ivan Zacharias, Rupert Sanders, Tom Kuntz, and more. He became a study in the art of commercials and has produced several spec projects for clients such as 42Below (winner Editor's Choice - Poptent.net), Nokia (winner Editor's Choice - Poptent.net), Speedstick. and Skanska. Wearing many hats on many projects has opened many doors and opportunities. His broad but consistent curiosity has led him to develop specialized skills in all aspects of production and tell stories in creative ways. A wine aficionado, musician, and technology whiz, Matthew enjoys all life has to offer and is always looking for a new story to capture.
