DEREK BRITTa Peabody Award-winning film and television producer, director and screenwriter (scripted/non-scripted). His work spans 30 years in television, film, documentary, live sports and commercial advertising. With a focus on original content creation, he works frequently with HBO, Paramount, Sony, Lionsgate, CBS, NBC, FOX, TBS, Viacom, Discovery, PBS, A&E, KingWorld - and recently secured a First Look deal with Amazon Studios. Derek is also a Director of commercial advertising and fashion campaigns. While developing original material, adaptations or showrunning a production, Derek is focused on challenging the imagination through bold, eye-opening, storytelling. It is my belief that truly great productions are a balance of collaboration and conviction." - DB Additionally, Derek launched two major companies into media. First, partnering with publishing giant, Chicken Soup for the Soul (CSS), Derek developed and Executive Produced a slate of intellectual properties distributed across top network, cable, digital and streaming outlets - facilitating the company's new entertainment division's IPO (CSSE - NASDAQ). Derek also partnered with e-commerce, media/tech startup, Knocking, Inc. Serving as both Executive Producer and Knocking's Head of Television and Content, he built and oversaw their production/broadcast model from the ground-up, designing an innovative and efficient way to develop, produce and deliver a high volume of high-end original branded content. Together they quickly generating over $50 million in "new revenue" in the first few months - broadcast partners included Disney, NBC/NBC O&O, ABC, Freemantle, DebMar, Sinclair, Cox Media Group, Univision, Meredith, and Gray Television. Currently Derek is in production on, and in development, of a slate of new productions - including the creation of a new film financing fund focused on impact driven films.
