Benn Perry spent most of his childhood dreaming of becoming a professional baseball player, wearing the Old English D of the Detroit Tigers. However, injury altered the path of his career. Growing up in Michigan, he moved to Florida, where he lived from 1974 - 2005; In the Spring of 2005 he and his wife, Judy, made their passionate move back "Home" to metropolitan Detroit to, as he puts it, "Make a positive difference in the city where I spent my formative years." With a business background that encompassed every facet of the credit industry; from credit granting to collections and ultimately counseling, Benn became an expert in his chosen field of credit counseling, and appeared as an In Studio Guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The 700 Club, Good Morning America, and numerous other national and international programs as the National Director of Credit Counselors Corporation - to discuss the very serious problem of personal debt in America. It is that background that led him to write what ultimately made him the recipient of the Best How-To Book Award at the San Francisco Book Festival in 2011; Escape From the Plastic Prison...A Practical Guide to Getting Yourself Out of Debt. In February of 2021 Benn published his tenth book. He was determined to enter the highly competitive world of screenplay writing, but prior to doing so he decided to follow the sage advice: "Write about that which you know best" before penning his screenplay, "Past Due!" which is going to be filmed entirely on location in his beloved Detroit. However, taking "Front Burner" honors is the filming of "Never Again!" - the project he is confident will turn out to be his "legacy motion picture." The Principal Photography for "Never Again!" was scheduled to begin on July 6, 2020, and along with his Film Making Family, Benn is hoping that the horrific COVID-19 pandemic is behind us all well before shooting is scheduled to commence. Due to its urgent subject matter in today's sadly fractured, all too often bigoted and partisan world, "Never Again!" is taking precedence over all other RTL Productions' features that are waiting understandably patiently in the wings. As an actor, Benn maintains that "All roles are challenging. It's what we do with those challenges to make the character naturally come to life that's the key!"
