Karen, an Iroquois (Mohawk) Native American, was raised in Northern New York on the Akwesasne reservation (AKA, St. Regis Indian Reservation). As a child she used to watch a Canadian TV show called "Story Theatre", where actors would use minimal props and plain costumes to play out their stories, usually fables and other stories, it left such an impression on Karen she never forgot it. As life went on, it wasn't until her first experience being on set and in a film as a performer, that prompted her to recall that show in her mind. She hadn't thought of that show until she started acting herself, that first show of imaginative acting has never left Karen's thoughts.
