Born in Lubbock, Texas, Richard Rees grew up in the country primarily outside Richmond, Texas. After graduating from High School, Richard went to College at Southwest Texas State University, where he majored in Criminal Justice. While obtaining his degree, Richard volunteered to work for the Hays County Sheriff's Department as a sworn Deputy - Reserve, and later San Marcos Police Department also as a Reserve Police Officer. Upon completion of his degree, Richard moved back to his Richmond area home to seek a full time law enforcement job. During this time he became a Substitute Teacher before he entered the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Academy to obtain his full Texas Peace Officer's license and training. Richard was then hired by the South Houston Police Department where he has worked for the last 29 years in varying positions including Patrol, Narcotics, Street Crimes, and Crime Scene Investigations while obtaining over 3000 hours of additional training. It was during this time that Richard finally decided to explore acting and found a group of local Houston area actors and a show called "Texas Live". Here he wrote, directed and acted in sketch comedy, commercials and live informational stories featuring new clubs and businesses in the Houston area.
