Georgii Speakman has completed acting training with Flinders University Drama, SA Casting, TVI Studios USA, AIPA Sydney, TAFTA Melbourne, Actors Centre NSW, Screenwise NSW, John Higgins American Dialect Sydney, Lynette Sheldon New York and Practical Aesthetics NSW & New York. Speakman is also qualified with a double degree in a Bachelor of Business Communications and Film and Television, majoring in corporate communications and marketing. Speakman is an award-winning actress, playing lead female roles in independent feature films; Carmilla Hyde (Britt), Offside (Katie) and Roadman (Lorraine). Speakman won Best Supporting Female Actor at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF) and Carmilla Hyde was selected for (13) International Film Festivals in 2010. Carmilla Hyde was awarded 7 Best International Feature Film Awards in 2010 and Roadman was awarded as a Finalist in the DigiSPAA 2010 SPAARTAN awards, which also premiered at the Bradford International Film Festival in the UK, 2011 and in 2012 was recently awarded Best Drama in the International Next TV Indie Film Competition based in California, USA. In 2012, Speakman completed short film 'Sidekick' with award winning writer / director Jim Shomos. Speakman won the People's Choice Award for the theatre show Being Frank and starred as Philipa in the edgy Australian feature film Cross Life (Dir. by Claire McCarthy of The Waiting City), which screened as a 'Top 5' film favorite at Sydney Film Festival 2007, Pusan International Film Festival, 2007, and also won an Independent Spirit Award at the Inside Film Awards, 2007. Between 2005 and 2007, Georgii had lead roles in theatre, several lead roles in award-winning short films as well as small roles in multi-award winning Mary Bryant; Small Claims and The Informant television series. Her presenting credits include Chaser's War on Everything ABC, 2007 and Body Image Workshop, Channel 7, 2009. Georgii appeared as a guest star at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo for Carmilla Hyde. Speakman has undertaken a great deal of charity work through a mentorship program with The Smith Family (2008 - ongoing) and has hosted their government lunches; event managed fundraising initiatives for Sunrise Children's Association (SCAI) and organised publicity from print, radio including TV; has been an ongoing public speaker through SA Great, now known as Advantage SA on career development within the Arts.
