Jimmy Morrison directed the award-winning documentary The Housing Bubble, which still holds the attendance record at the Anthem Film Festival in Las Vegas. The sequel The Bigger Bubble will be released soon. Jimmy made the motion graphics for Grid Down, a documentary on the electrical grid narrated by Dennis Quaid. After bringing Morrison in as a script doctor, the film won the Best Storyteller Award at the LA Doc Film Festival. Jimmy Morrison produced and shot the mockumentary Rocksteppy, starring Jake Dilley and McManus Woodend, best known for his recurring role as the GEICO caveman. The film features Jeff Dowd: the Coen Brothers original inspiration for "The Dude," as well as cameos from Oscar-winning directors David Lynch and Peter Farrelly. David Lynch personally selected Jimmy and Jake's music video "Aperture" for a grant, which also screened at the Minneapolis St. Paul Film Festival. Jimmy Morrison got his start filming music videos and concerts, going on to film 4 Grammy winners and working in 41 states and 7 countries. Jimmy and frequent collaborator Jake Dilley were recently brought in as script doctors and motion graphics animators for Grid Down, a documentary on the electrical grid narrated by Dennis Quaid. Despite dropping out of college, Morrison's lectured at numerous universities, including the University of Toronto and the Warsaw School of Economics. In 2008, Jimmy started Iowa Patients for Medical Marijuana, successfully lobbying the first Board of Pharmacy in the country to recommend marijuana be rescheduled as medicine, which the bipartisan board supported unanimously. Jimmy worked closely with former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson from 2010-2011 on his nonprofit and Presidential campaign. In 2019, Morrison launched RV School with the tagline: The world is our playground. The first of its kind school facilitates self-directed education that enables children to learn perseverance and conflict resolution firsthand. Inspired by Reggio & Montessori schools, as well as unschooling, founder Jimmy Morrison likens his approach to the Socratic work of Michael Strong, who focuses on deep conversation to promote a greater love for and appreciation of ourselves and the world we live in. Rather than memorizing answers to get by, the focus is on pursuing passions and developing your ability to learn, adapt, and innovate. Jimmy also serves on the school board for the Montessori School of Iowa City.
