Jake Wall

Jake Wall is an industry awarded Property Developer, Master Builder, and Co-Director of privately owned companies, J Group Projects, and Sesion Tequila. Based in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, New South Wales, his accomplishments have seen him gain both national and global recognition, for transforming his creative passion into commercial success stories. Collecting some of Australia's most prestigious property and construction awards, and achieving the highest level of recognition in the liquor industry within a year of launching to market; Jake has maintained his strive to challenge and lead in all that he puts his mind to. Deeply ingrained in the operational side for both businesses, Jake developed a steely determination and set his work standards high from an early age. Born in the small coastal town of Norarville in New South Wales' Central Coast, his career started at the age of fifteen, where he left school to pursue his dream for 'creating' - commencing a carpentry apprenticeship and learning the art of wood work. Mid way through his apprenticeship, Jake was selected by the National Rugby League football team to play for the Balmain Tigers. Relocating to Sydney, he commenced a three year contract at the age of just sixteen years old, playing semi professionally in both under age Eighteens and Twenties, and eventually in Reserve Grade. At nineteen, he left the team to play for the North Sydney Bears, continuing to build his reputation in National football, until injuries steered him to pursue his original course of building. Despite travelling the path of professional football for six years, Jake never gave up on his dream to become a builder, at the same time interchanging his steel tips for steel caps as he worked alongside Sydney builders to complete his apprenticeship; qualifying with a Certification III in Carpentry and a Certification IV in Building and Construction. He also met his partner and now wife, Jennifer Hawkins, former Miss Universe, and one of Australia's most famous faces and business moguls. The spotlight was once again on Jake, who attracted film, television, and modelling work in between construction projects. Continuing to fine tune his ability to keep many balls in the air at once, he maintained his day job, project managing multi million dollar residential builds, as the couple also commenced their own property portfolio - designing and building homes, and understanding the nuances of how to create an environment to complement a luxury lifestyle. This style of building became his niche, and in 2007 it lead to the creation of his own residential building and construction company, J Group Projects. For more than ten years, the company has grown to a team of twenty, and has developed some of Sydney's most beautifully built residences. Fuelling Jake's passion for impeccable design, the couple's love for travel has also broadened his horizons as he has enjoyed and explored luxury living environments, and witnessed the highest standards of craftsmanship. His understanding of what it takes to build a masterpiece is born from the experiences he has encountered, with an intrinsic sense for how to design, create and build objects of precision and beauty, but more importantly, to challenge the conventional norm. This ethos prevailed when he started Sesion, a tequila business based in Australia in 2013. Not only was there little to no market for it, but as an industry novice, the odds were against him. Perseverance and partnering with one of the oldest tequila dynasties to create a small batch premium tequila immediately attracted the right attention and a die hard audience, gaining the brand immediate notoriety at the San Francisco liquor awards, with a gold, silver and bronze across each of Sesion's flavours. Now in its fifth year, Sesion now sits comfortably on the shelves of liquor stores throughout the world, and is offered across Qantas airline's first class flights and lounges. Deeply imbedded in the day to day activity of both business's, Jake's eye for detail, and a calm head for 'pulling it off to perfection' supports his love of bringing an idea to life - starting with a blank slate and a strong team of professionals, and seeing it to fruition. Drawing on his football training, he understands the value of team work and how to bring out the best, to create the best. Collectively, he is fortunate to work with partners who also excel in their chosen fields, realising their vision of achievement, and the highest standards of quality and beauty.
