Jason Kanakis

Chicago-born Jason Kanakis is a classically-trained composer and guitarist with a command of eclectic instrumentations and arrangements. His composing style reflects a unique grasp of traditional musical idioms such as flamenco, British Isles folk, bluegrass and Greek rembetika, in addition to his classical roots. Musical director and founding member of the Hotel Cafe Tour, Jason has been instrumental in the development of the eponymous Los Angeles singer-songwriter scene, which nurtured talents such as Sara Bareilles, Joshua Radin, Brett Dennen, K.T Tunstall, Ingrid Michaelson, Imogen Heap, and many other critically-acclaimed artists. Based in Los Angeles, he composes, performs and records for national acts and film/TV/commercials.
