Edd Scorpio was born in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) when it was still officially referred to as "York". On his Mother's side he is related to at least four First Nations and some of the first French in North America. On his Father's side he is of N. African & Middle Eastern descent. He has appeared in dozens of films & TV series as well as some commercial and Theatre work. In The late 1970s he learned about Entertainment Promotion/Contracts and Sound & Light Engineering while working as a "Roadie" with many Canadian rock acts - then moved on to become a DJ/Music Programmer in various nightclubs in the Toronto (Ontario,Canada) area. As a Radio Broadcaster he worked as a Producer and Announcer in the Toronto area market (including CFNY 102.1 FM "The Spirit Of Radio") and was also an Instructor for the Broadcasting Program at Humber College (Production and Announce Techniques) - from which he himself is an Honours Graduate. Following his Radio career, he worked at the noted Broadcast Industry publication, RPM Magazine, where he was responsible for National Music Charts & Album Reviews. As a voice artist, he is known for an ability to adapt a convincing variety of accents/dialects adding to any character parts he plays. His experience also includes: Professional Photographer, Professional DJ/Music Programmer/Producer, Martial Arts (Kung Fu, Karate, Judo, Kendo), Canadian Armed Forces (Infantry), Private investigation, K9 Security, Swimming/Lifeguard Instructor, Computer/Network Engineer, Website Designer...and many more adventures. He has participated/competed in numerous sports including Swimming, Figure Skating, Cycling, Canoeing & Skin Diving. He frequently gives back to the communities he's close to; at 15 he cycled 100 miles with three school mates, raising $4000 between them. For two consecutive years he participated in "Dance-a-thon" fundraisers (raising a combined amount of $17,000) where he was the only DJ (non-stop) for the entire 24 hour period each time. The second year was actually 23 1/2 hours, single-handed, after having severed two fingers in an industrial accident - and having them reattached mere hours before! As an avid historian (especially of Pyrates/Privateers - some of whom he's related to), you may often find him as his alter ego, Capt. John Swallow. Along with his Pyrate Brethren, he has volunteered in many community projects across Louisiana since Hurricanes Katrina & Rita. He is "happily unmarried" to Actress/Archaeologist/Chef Seika Groves.
