Prosit Roy is an Indian film director, hailing from a Bengali family with strong cultural roots, based out of Kolkata. With an unflinching desire to be a storyteller, he moved to Mumbai against all odds to work his way up the ladder in the world of Indian cinema. His arduous journey saw him assist in multiple films with renowned directors, namely Vishal Bhardwaj, Ashutosh Gowariker, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Equipped with the skills learnt on the job, he wrote, directed & produced the short film Bloody Moustache in 2015. He also directed one of the first Indian mini-series in collaboration with Sony Liv. He made his debut as a feature film director with the critically acclaimed Pari, starring Anushka Sharma. The horror drama film was a genre bender, redefining what horror films have come to mean in the subcontinent. 15th May, 2020 sees the release of his Amazon Original Paatal Lok, already a critical triumph.
