Aside from acting, Mario loves movies and karaoke. In his free time he enjoys TV, spending time with his family and close friends, working out and taking acting classes. Mario's future plans include traveling and hopefully working in up coming film projects being shot in Florida and Louisiana. Mario was born on September 28, 1962, and raised in the Bronx, New York City, New York and he is a cancer survivor for over ten years. He enjoys acting because it allows him to be creative and be people or creatures he couldn't be in his day to day life. He was 14 years old when he got the acting bug, when he got the lead role of Conrad Birdie in his junior high schools production of "Bye, Bye Birdie." He loves horror flicks. He's loved watching them, especially the old Hammer Films that starred Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, like "Horror of Dracula (1958) a.k.a. Horror of Dracula" and "The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)," since he was a kid. he grew up on that stuff! he had, and still has, this dream of starring in a horror movie. In 1992 he moved to Central Florida to find his dream. It wasn't easy, and as John Lennon sang in his song "Beautiful Boy," 'life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.' His first job in Florida wasn't a glamorous acting gig. It was as a service person at the Holiday Inn in Altamonte Springs. But, a year after he moved to Florida, he met the most beautiful woman on the face of the earth, in his eyes, Rosa. Rosa and Mario dated for about three years, and in 1995 they married. Three years later their son, Gabriel Alexander Figueroa was born in 1998. In the late summer of 1999, Mario auditioned for a role as a "scaractor" for Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights IX: Last Gasp. He was cast in the role of 'The Embalmer' in that years signature haunted house "The Mummy," and that's where he met his manager, Daniel Ingraham, he was Mario's make up artist. Mario didn't realize it at the time, but he also met Daniels' partner with 'Glass Asylum Productions', Mickey M. Bonura, that year as well. Mario has been a seasonal actor there ever since, as well as working for the Seminole County School system for the past 10 years. While, he loves doing Halloween Horror Nights, he really wants to expand his horizons more, using his skills and talents in: Singing, Mime, Juggling, Voice Characterizations, and Improv, he wants to act in movies, maybe television. Mario is always open to new and unusual roles, and challenges. He wants to grow and develop as an actor. Mario hopes to work with you, soon, in the movies
