Like many behind the scenes in Hollywood, Wayne Heyman-Hanks (credited as Wayne Hanks) began his career in show business during the mid 1980s as a Production Assistant. In the late 1980s he began working for the Forman family (Pacific Theatres) as a liaison to the public, based out of the landmark El Capitan movie palace on Hollywood Boulevard. Heyman-Hanks ultimately assisted in the grand restoration of the theatre to its former glory under the care of the Walt Disney Company and numerous historians. Soon thereafter he became an assistant to Carol Burnett. Afterwards, he served for some time as an assistant to Julie Andrews. Heyman-Hanks also worked for several years as a highly-valued team member of the Nederlander Organization, arguably our nation's foremost theatrical impresario family, operating some of the finest legitimate theatres in the world, including the famous Pantages Theatre at Hollywood & Vine. Heyman-Hanks worked under the leadership of James Nederlander and was taken under the wing of his mentor, the late Dixie Burton and now-Director of Special Events for the Nederlander Organization, Tiffany Peterson. Heyman-Hanks further expanded his entertainment horizons working behind the scenes for the Broadway show Cats and closely assisted in the year-long redevelopment of another Andrew Lloyd Webber production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He learned more of the show business ropes managing for several other famous Broadway shows, such as Steel Magnolias and Driving Miss Daisy. In addition to working on location as a liaison for various major Hollywood studios, such as Warner Bros., Heyman-Hanks began managing the commercial endorsement, television, and motion picture appearances of numerous Major League Baseball players, such as Kevin Elster, Gabe Kapler, and Steve Sax. In the spring of 2005 Heyman-Hanks suffered a bout of negative publicity after a hopeful entertainment project with a longtime associate/aspiring director from Denmark, unraveled, leaving his then-friend's seven handpicked cohorts unpaid. It was later proven that no measurable work was performed by the group, who, in a rage over the Dane's bomb that the show was over, subsequently broke into Heyman-Hanks' home and stole back their starting paperwork, according to the LAPD (police serving Hollywood, California). The motley crew of discontents had managed to inflame a local newspaper and magazine with vengeful intent, having a personal ax to grind. Unbeknown to Heyman-Hanks, the would-be director, who had sworn to underwrite the project with his own foreign funds, turned out to be an illegal alien who is now barred from re-entry. Few may know that Heyman-Hanks is considered an official railroad historian by America's railroads, as well as a bona fide Railroad Official and is called as an expert forensic railroad witness in court. Further, he invented railroad signal equipment during the 1990s, which is in use today and for many years to come in the transportation sector. Heyman-Hanks is also considered an authority on Ancient Roman history and on the lifestyles of Ancient Roman soldiers. Moreover, Heyman-Hanks is civically active, serving for the last several years as Executive Director of a national foundation benefiting under-funded fire departments in various areas of the USA. He is also known for the last twenty years as being an advocate for the advancement of effective and efficient public transportation. He is the "adoptive parent" of several animals in zoos around the country. Heyman-Hanks formed his first attorney-organized corporation using grass-cutting money when he was only eighteen in the shadow of Rattlesnake Mountain in rural Alabama. Most recently, Heyman-Hanks co-wrote and will co-executive produce a science fiction thriller designed for television, for which writing has just been completed. His writing/producing partner has been renowned television Executive Producer and mega creative force, Glen A. Larson. Heyman-Hanks' brother is Los Angeles-based, successful musician/songwriter, Austin Hanks. All other immediate family back in Alabama are police officers and a federal agent, including Heyman-Hanks' stepmother and godmother.
