Award-winning filmmaker, JJ Osbun is Vice President of Monarex Hollywood and, in recent years, has contributed much of his time to galvanizing and accelerating a movement to curb the climate crisis through an organization called Grounded. Osbun learned filmmaking from development through post/production & distribution, working on America's Next Top Model, American Idol, Boss, Seeking A Friend and more. In 2010, he took on Monarex Hollywood's productions in China, completing 10 cinema-style documentary films about Chinese subjects with Chris Nebe. His award-winning productions are recognized for their cinematic beauty, unique subject matter and the difficulty associated with working in China. Such characteristics and challenges make the Mysterious China Series a one-of-a-kind set of films. As of 2018, Osbun turned much of his energy to developing a climate solutions summit and organization called Grounded, founded by Julia Jackson. Together they held the inaugural Grounded Summit in 2019 to great success, bringing together world leaders, front line organizations, scientists & researchers, corporate executives, students, celebrities, etc. The focus of Grounded is to "bring attention to the many existing solutions to climate change that humanity could immediately employ and scale if it had the will to do so." He continues, "This issue will influence all of my future projects, as it is without a doubt the single largest threat and opportunity humanity has faced."
