Dan Sheynin was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 25th, 1985 to Boris and Larisa Sheynin, along with older brother Alan Sheynin. At the age of two, his family moved to Rockland County. Growing up, Dan enjoyed film so much that he actively pursued acting with every intention to make it his life's work. His first role was Danny Zuko at a camp production in 1998. He then moved on to act in other various stage productions at local theater groups, and eventually at his high school where he played Roger Finestein in Neil Simon's "Enter Laughing", and a Russian Soldier in "Fiddler on the Roof". After graduating Suffern High School in 2003, Dan pursued an Associate degree in Performing Arts at Rockland Community College and Graduated in 2005. After graduating, he was cast in his first film as Marcus; the drug dealing boyfriend of one of the main protagonists in the film "Collision" (2006) which was presented by HBO at the New York City Latin Film Festival. Later the movie went on to win several awards at numerous film festivals, including the award for Best Screenplay at the Magnolia Independent Film Festival in 2007. After shooting the film, Dan went on to pursue a BA in psychology at State University of New York at Buffalo. Just shortly after graduating in 2009, he was accepted into UB's first Coast to Coast Entertainment and Media Symposium in Los Angeles where he met prominent UB alumni's such as Rosalind Jarrett, executive in charge of publicity for the Screen Actors Guild Awards®; Bobby Collins, winner of the American Comedy Award for Best Male Stand Up; Christine La Monte, film and television producer and former marketing executive at Disney, Universal and Orion Pictures; Ted Kryczko, vice president of A&R Catalog at Walt Disney Records; Linda Phillips-Palo, award-winning casting director; Robert Lamoreaux, animation writer for Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network; Rob Lieberman, award-winning director/producer; Alan Steinberg, renowned author and journalist; Alan Zweibel, multiple Emmy Award-winning writer/producer/director; and Oscar® and Emmy®-nominated actor/director Peter Riegert.
