Christopher Morris is a BAFTA award winning documentary filmmaker. Recurring themes include social justice, the changing nature of childhood & marginalised communities. He has been making documentary work for nearly forty years and teaching documentary work for eighteen years. Since leaving the BBC in 2003, Chris has been working as a freelance documentary director/producer and a story consultant. Projects include Fog of Sex, a Lottery funded drama/documentary about student sex workers, 'Mametz', a Lottery funded WW1 site-specific play for National Theatre Wales and recently A Year In A Field (Bosenna 2023) a feature documentary charting a year in which he stands in a field - a one-man unnoticed direct action, his personal response to our changing climate. "Morris' elegiac, sedative, yet profoundly important film" Sheffield Documentary Festival 2023. Chris was Professor of Documentary practice at Newport Film School, Wales (2003 - 2015) and then Director of the School of Film & Television at Falmouth University, Cornwall until 2020. Career awards include: a BAFTA and two BAFTA Cymru Awards, a Royal Television Society Award, five Torcs at the Celtic Media Festival, The Premios Ondas (Spain), a Special Jury Award at Le Prix Jeunesse and prizes at the Berlin Film Festival and Chicago International Children's Film Festival.
