Marjorie Roden is an actor/director based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Roden grew up just outside Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She is a writer and has been known to write scripts she has wound up acting in herself. She is also the founder and owner of "Farmgirl in the City Productions." Roden studied at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where she earned her Bacheor of Education degree, majoring in Visual Arts and minoring in Physical Geography. During that time, she performed in Catriona Shinekewski's production of "Romeo and Juliet" where she played the part of Balthazaar along with Michael Eklund, who portrayed the role of Romeo's father. Later on in her studies at the University of Saskatchewan, as a part of a thesis in her final year, she produced her first film "What to do about Janie?" Later, she went on to study Media Arts Production at SIAST Woodland Campus. Upon graduating, Roden worked on two television productions in Saskatchewan, first on "Rabbit Fall" as their publicity trainee under the guidance of Jennifer Podemski, and then worked on "Moccassin Flats: Redemption" in the AD department. Roden went on to move to Winnipeg shortly after, where she took training through the Winnipeg Film Group to hone her filmmaking skills, and later at the Academy of Broadcasting, where she took the Acting for Film & Television program.
