Tom Werber is an award-winning director of film, music videos and animation. His work has shown at festivals and exhibitions around the world, including at the Louvre gallery in Paris, Encounters, BUG and Big Screens in the UK, and has been featured in international magazines Aesthetica, IdN and Stash. Tom's work as a creative writer-director springs from a childhood surrounded by theatre and art. He often travelled the UK with his father's stage productions and learnt to draw with his mother, a painter. From a young age Tom would write; creating stories and comic books; later learning to animate. He went to art college in Suffolk where he specialised in drawing and moving image, then became interested in film through a desire to tell longer stories. Tom studied film and video at London College of Communication and there developed a passion for cinema and the work of directors such as Tarkovsky, Bergman and Kurosawa. After university, Tom worked as an editor, building a solid foundation for his ambitions to direct. He has cut one feature film and worked on several others. He has cut short films, documentaries, music videos and commercials. As a director and animator, Tom has collaborated with other artists including Dan Hillier. Tom and Dan's most recent work together was a Zoetrope: an animated installation they created for Louis Vuitton / Marc Jacobs. Tom has several projects in development, including a feature film.
