Aldo Ruggiero

Aldo Ruggiero is a Visual Effect Supervisor, lead Technical Director and a comp lead at FuseFX Ruggiero has been in the entertainment industry for over 15 years touching all aspects of production and post-production, work that has granted him both Emmy and VES nominations. Ruggiero, of Naples, Italy, came to Hollywood to study music, attending the Musician's Institute. After graduating with diplomas in Guitar and Recording Arts in 1999, he found his real passion was not in making music, but in making motion pictures. Mr. Ruggiero was a movie editor, photographer, and filmographer before specializing in digital effects. He produces insightful art with technical agility, quickly determining which tool is best and making a facile switch, be it between Massive, 3dsMax, Houdini, Naiad, Terragen, Nuke or a simple python shell. As a compositor at FuseFX he has worked on more than a thousand shots for more than 30 different TV shows and movies. As a water TD, he created highly realistic looking water effects for the show, "The Last Resort," production that granted him 2 coveted nominations from the Visual Effects Society and an Emmy nomination. Behind the scenes he writes the python side of the FuseFX pipeline, connecting all the departments at a touch of a button. Ruggiero's keen sensibility to both the technical and artistic sides of the VFX industry, together with a broad knowledge of the tools of the trade, makes him a unique asset in the FuseFX team, providing a critical link between the various departments in our studio.
