Doris Tromballa was born in Munich, Germany and is a freelance TV producer, consultant, writer and director. She studied Journalism, Psychology and Sociology at the University of Munich and started her career as a reporter for various newspapers, commercial TV stations, and as a presenter at a radio station. In 2000, she founded the film production company, 'Supernatural Film' which produces films especially for educational programs, companies and initiatives. Since 2001 she works as a freelance journalist, writer, producer and director for public TV stations (primarily ARD, ARD alpha, Bayerisches Fernsehen and arte). Together with her colleague Florian Guthknecht she won several international awards for their production "Leben im Hochwasser", a documentary showing the impact of flood waters and climate change on wild life. In 2009 she was granted a bursary with the "Arthur F. Burns" fellowship and joined the team of "Changing seas" of Miami's public TV channel PBS (WPBT). In 2015 she was appointed project supervisor for the makeover of the famous TV series "Telekolleg Englisch", focusing on the task of teaching English language via internet and TV. Her current work focuses mainly on covering educational, scientific and environmental issues in documentaries for German public television. She is of high renown for her expertise on current science of human nutrition and biochemistry. In 2021 she completed her degree (B.Sc. nutrition therapy) at the Hochschule Anhalt/Bernburg.
