Rafinha Bastos was born on December 5, 1976, in Porto Alegre (RS), Brazil, as Rafael Bastos Hocsman. He is a comedian, writer, actor, director, journalist, producer and host, known for Agora É Tarde, CQC - Custe o que Custar, "A Arte do Insulto" and 8 minutos. He started his career as a professional basketball player at the University of Nebraska-Lyncoln. During this time, he produced comedy videos to his personal website Página do Rafinha. With Marcela Leal and Marcelo Mansfield, he founded the Clube da Comédia, and became one of the first stand-up comedians in Brazil. "A Arte do Insulto", his first solo show, was a huge success and Rafinha Bastos spent more than four years on tour. Rafinha Bastos was invited to host the talk-show CQC - Custe o que Custar, produced by Cuatro Cabezas, with Marcelo Tas and Marco Luque. He also became the host of A Liga, a journalistic TV show. In 2011, he released "A Arte do Insulto" as DVD, and got the Platinum award for selling more than 50,000 copies. At the same year, he was pointed by The New York Times as the most influential person in the world on Twitter. As actor, his first role was "Mothern" (2006), produced by the Channel GNT. For this role, he received the Prêmio Jovem Brasileiro 2007 for Best Actor in a TV series. In 2013, his debut film "Mato sem cachorro" (2013) was released, followed by "Copa de Elite" (2014) and "Superpai" (post-production). Currently, Rafinha Bastos is the host of the TV show Agora É Tarde and partner at the Internet Channel Marcapasso.
