As a member of the Director's Guild of America, TK is always creating. Her work spans feature films, short films, music videos, television, and photography. Her first feature "10-20" (later renamed "Anger Has A Secret") won the 2009 HBO Award for Best Feature Film at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival and was a finalist for the Best Feature Saatchi & Saatchi award. She went on to direct a short film titled "The Mia Countdown", which won the 2017 Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack Real to Reel local award for Best Short. Most recently, she recently directed seven short films for Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack Brand. TK's vision emerged during college when she explored directing and photography. She discovered the value of quiet both within the dark room and during intimate moments with actors while filming. It's this tension of moments when we're disturbed and undisturbed that beckons her. Whether she's creating a private environment in the studio or finding intimate moments in our uncontrolled external world, TK's vision separates knowledge from noise. This is why Terrisha "TK" Kearse uses her lens for storytelling. Her stories, whether told through photography or film, capture moments of joy and melancholy, distress and dignity, desperation and hope with a deep compassion for the hidden angst that often obscures our views of others -- and ourselves.
