Richard's nomadic career began in factual television wearing multiple fancy pants hats as a director, shooter, and editor on shows like Intervention Canada, Ice Road Truckers and Vegas Rat Rods. But after nabbing a Gemini Award, Richard jumped over to scripted television where he developed a reputation as 'The Truck Whisperer" when he was hired to be the lead director and producer of NBC Sprout's groundbreaking kids series, Terrific Trucks. He then went on to become the co-executive producer, co-writer and director of the Terrific Trucks Save Christmas, a TV movie that earned in him a 2017 Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Direction in a Family Program. Richard's first feature film, a dramatic comedy entitled Sideboob, began its 2018 festival circuit with screenings at the Toronto Indie Film Fest, Charlotte Film Festival, and Hamilton Film Festival. 2018 also saw Richard finish work as the executive producer, director, and editor of an interactive, mystery web series with Insight and Yellow Bear Productions entitled Damaged, which was picked up by T&E for broadcast in October 2018. The series began its festival circuit, winning runner-up for Best Web Series and Best Noir at the Los Angeles Film Awards, and will be screened at the upcoming Rome Independent Prism Awards and the Miami Web Fest in 2019.
