Tim Cutler

Tim Cutler is an award winning British filmmaker, writer and artist. He is the founder of Fishkinfilms, a production company specializing in both documentary and fiction film now focusing on a merging of the two. The film -The Day The World Turned Dayglo (2010) - a Middle Eastern odyssey through conflicted lands, beginning two days after 9/11 appeared at several international film festivals in 2010/11 receiving four nominations for best documentary and best international film. Production on a new film The Fourth Pig is now stalled in post-production Tim has spent many years travelling, teaching and studying overseas, - a legacy of those years is the chronic Lyme disease with which he now battles. Bitten initially by ticks in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco in 1993 and again the following year in the Himalayas. The ensuing illness wasn't officially diagnosed until 2016, a pattern of late diagnosis is common among acute sufferers. Lyme is a hugely debilitating disease, criminally under researched in the UK resulting in inadequate diagnosis and treatment and robbing thousands of people of the prime of their lives. Tiny tick pathogens with 15 million years of evolution have produced an organism which can evade both the human immune system and antibiotics , a 2mm predator sufficient to fell a man of 1.93 meters . What limited treatment that is available is complicated by the fact that ticks pass on not just Borrelia but several other co-infections.
