Andy Smith

Andy left the full time staff of the BBC in 1997. He subsequently worked on a range of projects for BBC Television, for ITV, a number of Independent Production Companies, and as a freelance production manager / director / producer. Andy produced a number of BBC projects, in particular helping to develop the BBC's 'virtual studio' . 'Shrink' won a special BAFTA award for Creative Innovation. In 2005 Andy was appointed as Course Leader for the BA in Film and TV at Bournemouth University / Wiltshire College. In 2009 Andy oversaw the launch of the BA (Hons) in Film Production & Cinematography - the degree programme has gone from strength to strength, and has thus far helped more than 300 Graduates find their feet in the film and television industries.
