Viola Baldwin (formerly Viola Baier) was born in Radolfzell/Germany. Always having a passion for animated films, she aimed for an animation career since her childhood. After graduating from school, she worked as a freelance illustrator, character designer, storyboard artist, animator, 3D and compositing artist. 2006-2013 Viola studied animation at the Institute of Animation of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg/Germany, where she created and directed four animated short films. In 2009 she spent an exchange year attending the French animation school Gobelins in Paris, followed by an animation internship at Framestore feature films in London. In 2013 she graduated from the Filmakademie with her award winning diploma film "Wedding Cake". After graduation she continued to work in film and TV, and amongst others created animations for the "Minions" movie, MTV's "Shannarra Chronicles", and Disney's live action movie "Beauty and the Beast".
