Gouzalia Van Mater

Gouzalia is an inspiration and a role model for women across the world. A native of Uzbekistan, which was formerly part of the Soviet Union, Gouzalia has created a gripping and realistic film, Dead End Falls, about slave trade from Russia to the United States. She produced, directed and acted in this true to life full length feature. Gouzalia has lived in New York and Los Angeles, attended film school, worked in television as an editor, and acted in various independent film projects both in the US and abroad. Returning to L.A. for good in 2005, she has focused her talents on being behind the camera and created G Star Media, a media company that specializes in the development and production of films and other artistic multimedia concepts. She says she finds it gives her the most creative control and enjoyment in the film industry. She has produced and directed a number of films, but Dead End Falls has special meaning to her.
