Bob is a professor of Integrative Biology at the University of California at Berkeley. His research focuses on comparative biomechanics and physiology. His lab develops robots based on modeling of animals such as cockroaches, crabs and beetles. Bob completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Buffalo in 1979. He received his master's degree in 1982 and his doctoral degree in 1984 from the same institution. He did postgraduate work at The University of Chicago from 1984-1986 before joining the University of California at Berkeley in 1986 as an assistant professor of zoology.
