Christopher Rutkowski has been living out his passion for producing and directing since the age of 16. After studying film at Ryerson University in Toronto Christopher became CNN iReport's primary source of coverage on the Obama campaign in 2008 and went on to flex his skills behind-the-camera as DP on several reality series including "Dussault Inc." and "Ice Road Truckers". Always looking to expand his creative horizons, Chris embarked on his own journey into producing original content, launching his webseries: "theAFICIONAUTO" on YouTube. Combining his twin passions - film and cars - he began to self-produce and direct original documentaries about iconic cars from popular films. theAFICIONAUTO blew up in its first month, gaining half a million views with its pilot episode. Chris' series has since gained 12M views and nearly 70k subscribers. theAFICIONAUTO has helped establish Chris in the industry as both a talented creator and also a respected authority in the niche world of movie cars. As a result, Chris was entrusted with a car valued at over $9M and commissioned to produce a 7-minute short Documentary and 1-minute commercial for RM Sotheby's sale of a 1967 Ferrari owned by Steve McQueen during the filming of Bullitt. The campaign was such a success the car sold for nearly $12M to Jerry Seinfeld. Chris' creative and technical versatility and ability to transform low budgets into quality content led him to direct YouTube star Spankie's MadMax-inspired video submission for the 2017 Face Awards. Chris also directed the 22-minute pilot for a show about comic book antihero John Constantine. While continuing to create content for theAFICIONAUTO, Chris' main goal is to seek out more opportunities in writing and directing and to take on new projects and bring them to life in the best way possible. Nothing is off the table!
