American Writer, Educator & Actress, Tama Leia was born in Los Angeles California on March 14, 1978. Tama Leia spent most of her academic years attending boarding schools, where she learned to ride horses and competed in equestrian competitions She joined a swim team called, The Mavericks where she met many of her childhood friends, (which she still keeps in touch with to this day). She started writing novelettes at age 11 and by high school she became the newspaper editor. For writing assignments, she often joined her acting coach, George Randall on movie sets. Her first interview for her school newspaper was with John Malkovich on the set of one his films. As an actress her first role was a small part in Legally Blonde starring, Reese Witherspoon. Soon after that she landed another Small part in the cult classic, Donnie Darko, starring, Drew Barrymore). Tama Leia starred in the Japanese thriller, The Roommate. In 2017 she co-wrote and starred in the Indy film, Greenwich Village and she produced the educational film, Stobe (2017) which got accepted in the Oscar-qualifying film festival, Hollyshorts. In 2018 Tama co-wrote two novels, both romantic comedies, titled, Paris Beach and Love, Big Deal. In 2019 she founded her jewelry company, and clothing line, Tamaleialuxe. In 2020 Tama Leia created the "I Love Africa" campaign to help contribute to South African children's education. A portion of all proceeds from her company go to help educational non-profits. In 2021 Tama Leia wrote her second draft to her novel, The Romantic.
